Summary
Twitch Wiliams tells the story of how he and his partner, Sam Burke, returned to homicide duty at the NYPD. Their first case is a multiple gangland murder where four severed thumbs are gathered as evidence. When the coroner discovers they all have the same fingerprint and are not from any of the victims, Sam and Twitch are mystified. More public gangland executions occur, each leaving multiple matching body parts behind. The only clues Sam and Twitch have to this bizarre series of murders is that it is somehow connected to their police precinct and a mysterious stranger wearing a white fedora and a white trench coat. Twitch continues to tell his story....
