Pearl Jam's "Do The Evolution," the animated video directed by Todd McFarlane and produced by Terry Fitzgerald, from Todd McFarlane Entertainment, was nominated for "Best Short Form Music Video" in the 41st Annual Grammy Awards. Kevin Altieri co-directed the video.

The 4-minute video based on the song "Do the Evolution" from the group's album Yield , was conceived by McFarlane and Pearl Jam's lead singer Eddie Vedder. It recounts the entire history of man, and was released in August 1998. This was Todd McFarlane's first music video and Pearl Jam's first video in six years.

McFarlane's music projects have recently received many other awards. "Do The Evolution" was just named "Best Video" in Rolling Stone Magazine's Annual Readers Poll, and in Spin Magazine's Reader Choice Awards.
