The past month has been quite an exhilarating roller coaster ride for Todd McFarlane Entertainment (TME). Busy as we are with so many exciting projects underway, it is no wonder that time has been scarce to relay all the developing details to our readers at Spawn.com. Hopefully this update will fill you in on what's been happening with the various projects we know you're anxious to see.
Disturbed's "Land Of Confusion" Music Video
Currently, TME's frontrunner along the production lines is the music video for Disturbed's celebrated re-recording of Genesis' "Land of Confusion." Producer Terry Fitzgerald has just returned from a week in Korea, where he spent time overseeing the traditional 2D production of the animated video. He is enthusiastic to report the animation for this TME project is proceeding remarkably well and on-schedule. The overseas animation company is hard at work creating various layouts and traditional 2-D and 3-D animation for the highly political video. The delivery date to the Warner Records music label will be early June 2006, with a projected TV and Internet release following in mid-June. The much-anticipated video will be released just in time to see Disturbed headline the 2006 Ozzfest this summer.
In response to many inquiries, "Spawn: Animation" is still a prominent focus point at the McFarlane Companies. As you may know, the initial estimated release date for "Spawn: Animation" has come and gone. Don't worry; this eagerly awaited animated film has not been shelved!
Originally scheduled for release/airing in early 2006, "Spawn: Animation" has experienced some minor setbacks. However, production is still actively in progress as director Todd McFarlane and producer Terry Fitzgerald reevaluate certain key elements of the project's development. The estimated release date is now set for 2007.
With almost a decade passed since Todd McFarlane first brought his premier comic creation to life on the big screen with the release of 1997's live-action Spawn, the writer/director is eager to do it again. Spawn 2 is currently in progress as Todd fine-tunes a script of his own design. In the meantime, producers Todd and Terry Fitzgerald will begin actively scouting locations within the next two months for a potential end-of-2006 film shoot. Todd and Terry estimate the release date of this feature-film to be sometime in 2007. The cast for Spawn 2 will be announced at a later date.
