The McFarlane Toys Collector's Club has offered fans the opportunity to purchase limited-edition collectibles for years, and we're pleased to share with you some of our plans for 2006.
Starting Monday, January 23, Shrek 2's Puss In Boots will be the first Club exclusive of 2006. This 13-inch resin figure features a real plume, removable rapier and custom base. Retailing for $60, there is a limit of two figures per household.
We'll offer a pair of Spawn Exclusives in March -- the long-awaited "Hanging Spawn" from Issue #30 and the blue and orange-tinted Spawn from the cover of Issue #7. These two figures will be released simultaneously to enable our dedicated Spawn collectors to save on shipping.
This April, the Collector's Club turns its attention to the NBA and offers debut figures for three of the NBA's brightest young stars. New Orleans Hornets guard J.R. Smith, Utah Jazz forward Andrei Kirilenko and Portland Trail Blazers guard Sebastian Telfair will all make their action figure debuts as part of the Collector's Club Exclusive "NBA Young Stars" lineup.
Each of the figures will be a limited run, sold individually through the Club at the same time, so collectors can save on shipping with a multiple order. Stay tuned to Spawn.com for prototype photography in the coming weeks.
May brings a second visit from one of the all-time most popular Collector's Club Exclusives. We originally offered a pair of Deion Sanders figures last year and the overwhelming demand took us a few days to sort through. Many collectors were unable to acquire the Falcons and Ravens versions of Deion Sanders, and we promised we'd work on a way to provide them another opportunity.
The upcoming Deion Sanders exclusives feature "Prime Time" in Falcons and Ravens uniforms again, but this time the figures will sport Baltimore's popular all-black uniform and Atlanta's red, white and silver combo from Deion's rookie season. We wanted to offer different versions of the same teams featured in the 2005 release as a shadow to the collectors who missed out in the first round.
Stay tuned to Spawn.com for more photography and cemented release dates.
There will be more Collector's Club offerings this year -- we'll keep you posted as the news breaks.
