'McFarlane's Evil Prophecy' Features 10 Todd-designed Characters
Friday, May 02, 2003

It's the early 19th century, and the world is filled with chaos. Six great Evils awaken -- Dracula, Frankenstein, Werewolf, Voodoo Queen, Sea Creature and Mummy -- and the only force standing between them and the end of the world is four monster hunters controlled by an outside influence ... the PS2 gamer.

The McFarlane's Monsters Series 1 action figure line, released in 2002, now comes to life as McFarlane's Evil Prophecy, a new PS2 game from Konami. McFarlane's Evil Prophecy, slated for release in November 2003, is an intense action adventure game that will be officially unveiled at this month's E3 event. The six "evils" and four "hunters" are all Todd McFarlane-designed characters.

This is the fourth collaboration between Konami and McFarlane. Past projects include an early Spawn game and two highly successful Metal Gear Solid action figure lines co-developed with Kojima-san, the famed game creator.

"I have a good existing relationship with Konami," said Todd. "We've worked directly with Kojima-san on the Metal Gear Solid figures and we released Spawn on Color GameBoy with Konami in the 1990s. My various companies have had positive experiences with the company in the past. We know they do great work."

It appears 2003 will be the year of gaming for Todd and the McFarlane companies. As mentioned last week, Todd and Namco have hooked up for two gaming projects - SOULCALIBUR II and a new Spawn game. With everything we have going on, Todd will have two signings and a gaggle of media interviews at E3 on May 14.

E3, or Electronic Entertainment Expo, is a trade-only show not open to the general public and attendees must be 18 and over. However, many in the audience are part of the "industry" in some way and may be there on May 14.

Todd will be joining the Konami team for a signing from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at their booth. Later in the day, from 2:45 to 3:45 PM, Todd will be at the Namco booth for another signing. In between and after the signings, he'll be interviewing with a number of the gaming media. Check out to get registration information and more about the show. And check out the regular gaming news sites and magazines for Todd's interviews after the show ends.
