FOOTBALL HALL OF FAME EVENT A STUNNER
Staffers Meet Fans, Sell Out of Exclusive William Green Figure
Monday, August 11, 2003
McFarlane Toys arrived in Canton, Ohio, for the Football Hall of Fame enshrinement Aug. 2-4. Even though most of the attention went to Marcus Allen and the other four incoming members, there was still the usual long line to get to the McFarlane Toys booth, as fans waited their turn to purchase the William Green (Cleveland Browns, orange third jersey) figure exclusively sold at the event.
The staff had a great time meeting fans of our toys, and also getting the rare opportunity to meet a Hall of Famer in person, when legendary Kansas City coach Hank Stram came by our location -- he wasted no time picking Tony Gonzalez as his favorite figure.
We had a wonderful time in Canton even with the rain that came and went throughout the weekend. The Hall of Fame game between the Packers and Chiefs was fun to watch, and if you noticed the four people escaping the stadium at the first sign of lightning -- yeah, that was us. The people who jeered us for leaving early were the sopping wet ones who sloshed past our warm and dry Spawn-mobile 15 minutes later.
Canton was a most gracious host to McFarlane Toys and we look forward to our next visit to Ohio and the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
