Ravens to Auction First Capullo/McFarlane Art in Over a Decade on Tuesday, Dec. 6
Monday, December 05, 2005

The Baltimore Ravens will host the 5th annual All Community Team Auction Party, Tuesday, Dec. 6 on the North Club level at M&T Bank Stadium. Beginning at 6pm, the event will feature silent and live auctions -- and up for bid is Ravens Report original artwork by Greg Capullo and Todd McFarlane.

The original poster featuring #85, wide receiver Derrick Mason, will be one of the highlights of the "Ravenstown" section silent auction, which includes autographed player memorabilia -- including footballs, helmets and jerseys -- and experiential items including Owner for a Day, Behind the Scenes Access and Workout with the Ravens.

The Derrick Mason Ravens Report will debut at the December 25 game vs. Minnesota.

The inclusion of the Mason poster marks a sentinel moment for McFarlane -- who has not sold or donated any original art since 1992. The poster will be signed by Capullo, McFarlane and Mason. The auction has already generated considerable buzz between Mason and Steve Geppi, owner of Diamond Comic Distributors and Baltimore Magazine.

The All Community Team is a partnership among the Baltimore Ravens, the players and 24 members of the corporate community, including title sponsor, M&T Bank. The main goal of the partnership -- which expects to raise more than $500,000 this year -- is to support player foundations and community outreach efforts.
