McFARLANE TOYS SCORES AT PRO FOOTBALL HALL OF FAME
Canton, Ohio Hosts 100,000 Diehard Football Fans
Friday, August 11, 2006
The McFarlane Toys road crew is back from a very successful event at the NFL Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, OH (home of the nicest people on earth). As usual, the forces of nature hit us with heavy rain and wind during set-up, but the next three days were beautiful, and attendance was great at the event.
On Saturday, the Enshrinement Ceremony kicked off at 8am with the annual Hall of Fame parade in downtown Canton, where a crowd of well over 100,000 showed up in a town whose population is 80,000. Afterwards the crowd stampeded to the Hall of Fame for a once-in-a lifetime shopping experience in the Mall of Fame -- vendors included Sports Illustrated, Highland Mint, Wilson, Riddell and McFarlane Toys. And last but not least, the Pro Football Ultimate Fan Association members were out in full force and full costume. Taking team spirit to a whole new level, they come from all over the United States to attend this event.
By Sunday afternoon, we were completely sold-out of the event exclusive: Troy Aikman. It was great introducing hundreds of sports fans (moms, dads, kids and grandparents) - many unfamiliar with McFarlane Sports Picks -- to our new NFL lines.
HALL OF FAME CONTEST WINNERS ANNOUNCED
Congratulations to Larry Gibbs Jr. of Fredericksburg, Va. And Clinton Bullock of Talihina, Okla., winners of our Canton Hall of Fame contest. They have each scored an exclusive limited-edition Troy Aikman figure. Thank you to everyone who entered.
