As fans root their favorite baseball teams down the September stretch run, McFarlane Toys is already thinking ahead -- planning the MLB Sports Picks series for 2007. We've already announced the MLB 17 line, which will be exclusive to Toys R Us as part of their "Opening Day" program next February. The lineup consists of:Yankees' 2B Robinson CanoWhite Sox DH Jim ThomeRed Sox SP Josh BeckettAthletics 3B Eric ChavezToys R Us requested we add another two players to the lineup, and we were happy to oblige. Here then, are the two players joining the MLB 17 lineup:BILLY WAGNER (Closer, New York Mets): The Mets have catapulted themselves to the top of the National League in 2006, and having a hammer at the end of their bullpen has been key to that success. The 5'11 terror brings heat to the plate, and has confounded N.L. hitters (2.20 ERA, 1.04 WHIP, 32 saves, 80 strikeouts in 61.1 innings) in his debut season with the Mets.TROY GLAUS (3B, Toronto Blue Jays): Toronto revamped their club with free agent signings and a handful of trades, but their best acquisition might have been third baseman Troy Glaus. The 2002 World Series MVP arrived in Toronto and established himself as the everyday third baseman, while showing the versatility to play a little shortstop in a pinch. Glaus has adapted well to his new surroundings, delivering the power (his 34 homers rank him seventh in the A.L.) and the scoring (96 runs are fifth in the A.L.) the Blue Jays were hoping for.In addition to the six-player MLB 17 lineup, Toys R Us will also exclusively offer a New York Yankees 3-pack (Jason Giambi, Derek Jeter & Bobby Abreu) and a Chicago Cubs 3-pack (Derrek Lee, Greg Maddux & Carlos Zambrano).
