More Than a Toy Store, McFarlane Is a Shopping Destination
Friday, April 20, 2007

In November, we announced that we'd be opening a flagship retail store - to be called McFarlane - at the Westgate City Center in Glendale, Ariz. (To read the story, go here).

Work on the 2,000 square ft. store is progressing, and the retail staff has been busy with the details, ensuring that the finished product will exceed Todd's exacting specifications.

What can action-figure fans expect to find at McFarlane? Among other things, the store will be very "hands-on."

"We will have custom displays that will allow the product to be shown out of the box," says McFarlane store manager Tracy Hernandez. "These out-of-the-box displays will allow our customers to have the chance to really see the product up close, and in some displays actually touch and play with the figures. We will also have a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Our sales associates will have the knowledge to answer questions about the product we carry and to educate our customers. We want our store to appeal to everyone, and encourage customers to come in and play."

The Westgate store promises to be more than just a place to pick up action figures. It will be a shopping destination.

"Since the base of our store is action figures, fans and collectors will always be able to find the newest figures in quantities, and find entire lines under one roof," says Hernandez. "We will also have McFarlane store exclusives, a loyalty club, special events, signings and the occasional unannounced visit from Todd. We'll also feature some high-end sculpts and the latest and coolest designer/urban toys that are not readily available in Arizona."
There are still positions to be filled at McFarlane. Think you've got what it takes to be surrounded by toys all day? If you're a McFarlane Toys fan and great with people, we'd like to know about it. Check out the Glendale retail store employment opportunities here.
