'BEAT TODD'S PICKS' 2007 WINNER ANNOUNCED
Following a Tiebreaker, We Have a Champ
Friday, November 02, 2007
The big winner for SPAWN.com's second annual Beat Todd's Picks contest, the challenge where entrants predict the final MLB team standings each season (cue the drum roll and trumpets) is...
Leonardo Alarcon of San Diego, Calif.
In addition to bragging rights, he scores all of the 2007 McFarlane's Sports Picks baseball series - 17, 18 and 19.
As previously reported, Leonardo was in a tiebreak situation after beating out all but five other contestants. To determine who would be the overall winner, the remaining entrants were entered into the World Series tiebreak - where they had to guess which league would win, and how many strikes would be thrown in the final game. Leonardo won with his guess of the American League and 186 strikes thrown. Total strikes thrown in Game 4 by both teams were 177, and as we all know, the American League's Red Sox had the sweep.
Great work, Leonardo! Your McFarlane's Sports Picks prize package is on its way. Thank you to everyone who entered!
