Chris "Beanie" Wells earned his nickname from an older brother who claimed little Chris was "skinny like a bean pole." The nickname stuck, even as the little brother filled out - first turning heads as the dominant running force for Akron's Garfield High School, averaging 9.76 yards-per-carry and scoring 69 rushing touchdowns while piling up 5,546 rushing yards. He graduated in 2005 as a Parade All-American, and immediately committed to The Ohio State University, fulfilling a childhood dream. As a Buckeye, Wells tormented archrival Michigan with a 52-yard touchdown romp as a freshman, and a 222-yard rushing effort as a sophomore. Wells averaged 5.78 yards-per-carry in college, collecting 3,382 rushing yards and scoring 30 touchdowns. Following his junior year, Wells entered the NFL Draft and was selected #31st overall by the Arizona Cardinals.

As the Cardinals offense begins to redefine itself, there's no doubt that Beanie Wells will be a huge part of the redbirds attack this year and into the future.
