Cable Station to Premiere "Spawn" Movie in October

September 29, 2000

October is going to be one, er, hell of a month for Todd McFarlane's best-known creation, Spawn.

Not only will the long-awaited 100th issue of the Spawn comic book hit the shelves, the Spawn live-action movie will have its world broadcast premiere nationwide on cable station TBS.

That's right, the Spawn movie, originally released in 1997 by New Line Cinema, will be broadcast on TBS Sunday, Oct. 29. Starring Michael Jai White, John Leguizamo and Martin Sheen, the movie is adapted from the comic book and details Al Simmons' Faustian deal with the devil.

If you miss the premiere, the film will also be shown Thursday, Nov. 2; Saturday, Nov. 4; Sunday, Nov. 5 and Saturday, Nov. 11. Check local listings for times.

TBS Superstation is an entertainment network that reaches some 81 million households and is cable's most-watched network.

To further promote the movie's TV debut, Todd McFarlane will host an online chat with fans Wednesday, Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. EST. The chat will be held at and Todd will field questions for about an hour.
