As many of you know, Marvel Comics is producing a new one-shot book called Heroes, featuring artwork and prose from many of the top creators in comics. Heroes is a response from the comics community to the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, honoring those that lost their lives, and the brave men and women in our emergency services.

Heroes is a veritable who's who of comicdom, featuring Stan Lee, John Romita Sr., Frank Miller, Alex Ross, George Perez, Stuart Immonen, Jae Lee, Ethan Van Sciver, Fabian Nicieza, Kurt Busiek, Michael Golden, Frank Quitely, Phil Winslade, David Mack, Brian Bendis, Chuck Austen, Joe Casey, Sean Chen, Alan Davis and Mark Bagley among others.

Of course, the list also includes Image partner and Spawn creator Todd McFarlane and Marvel editor-in-chief Joe Quesada, who teamed up for a stunning piece of artwork, colored by Richard Isanove.

Heroes is due on the shelves Oct. 17. All proceeds from the book will go to the NYPD, FDNY and the Red Cross. The original artwork will also be auctioned off to benefit those same groups.

When contacted by, Quesada was more than happy to donate several copies of Heroes that he graciously agreed to sign. We've also gotten Todd to sign them and we're giving away eight Heroes copies, signed by Joe Q and Todd, to lucky readers.

The details (and they're simple): Send an e-mail with the subject header "Heroes Contest" to In the e-mail, simply include your name and complete mailing address. The deadline for entry is noon Pacific Time on Thursday, Oct. 18. We'll pick eight winners at random and announce them in the News section of on Friday, Oct. 19.
