The huge Sam and Twitch art contest initially announced in December is over and the winners have been chosen by Todd McFarlane himself.

This was one of the biggest contests ever held on featuring one of the most prestigious prizes. The overall winner will have his artwork used as the cover for an upcoming issue of Sam and Twitch. Additionally, that winner will be paid $300.

A First Prize winner was chosen and his work will appear in the back pages of Sam and Twitch. That person will be paid $200. A First Runner Up was also chosen and will have his work featured in the back pages of Sam and Twitch. That person will be paid $100.

    How cool is that?

The moment you've all been waiting for (drum roll ensues and we at feel giddy, like the announcer at the Miss America pageant):

First Runner Up: Coxy from the message boards.

First Prize winner: D-man from the message boards.

And, finally, (takes deep breath) the Grand Prize winner: Maverick from the message boards.

Todd personally picked all the winners and had an incredibly tough time doing it. "I was amazed at the overall quality of the artwork that was submitted," he said. "I had a difficult time narrowing the entries down and picking a winner."

Though we initially said the artwork would be in Sam and Twitch #30, it may actually come in an earlier issue. We'll let you know as soon as that decision is made.

Thanks again to everyone who entered their incredible artwork. There is some real talent out there and you made Todd's life difficult in deciding an overall winner.
